Our Itinerary

This is the latest and greatest update on our itinerary! There have been some big changes, such as that we are conducting orientation in Lourdes rather than Denver. 

 

We've been tenatively placing pilgrims in Groups A, B, or C, but there is still an opportunity to request changes. Placements were made based on pilgrims' preferences, logistics, and our own discernment.

 

June 23: Service team arrivals: 10 pilgrims

June 25-26: Service team Day of Prayer at our prayer cabins

June 27: Core team arrivals: 15 pilgrims

July 1 or 2: Local traveler arrivals (those not on Core team, but who will fly with us)

July 1-2: campout at Cherry Creek State Park, site of ’93 World Youth Day

 

July 2: Denver departures for Toulouse, France, arrive July 3

 

July 4: All other arrivals in Toulouse, Independence Day party!

 

July 4-8: Orientation in Nay (countryside near Lourdes)

 

July 7: Walking pilgrimage to Lourdes

 

July 8-16:

 

Group A

North of France: Mt. Saint Michel, Omaha Beach, Lisieux, and days of service & prayer in two Beatitudes houses; July 14 day of reflection with Fr. Jacques Philippe. Drive to Prague morning of 17th.

 

Group B

Switzerland: hiking, tourist days, days of service and prayer at Beatitudes house in Zug. July 16 night in Prague.

 

Group C

South of France: service days in Nay, International Conference in Lourdes, visit to Carcassone castle, beach day in Narbonne, drive through Avignon, maybe Grand Saint Bernard, Switzerland (highest monastery in Europe). July 15, night in Zug with Group B. July 16-17 in Prague.

 

July 17: All together to visit Prague

 

July 17-20: International conference in Czestochowa

 

July 20-25: 5-day walk to Krakow (spots are filled or wait-listed in order of registration) or Days in the Diocese near Krakow (visit Auchwitz, JP II's hometown, Shrine of Divine Mercy, Salt Mines...)

 

July 26: Optional visit to Shrine of the Divine Mercy and Papal Welcome Ceremony

 

July 27-30: WYD, international catechesis

 

July 30-31: Campout with the Pope!

 

July 31-Aug 1: Debriefing at school near Auchwitz

 

 

Aug 1:

Option 1: our charter bus(es) departs for our house in Belgium (13hrs)

Option 2: earliest possibility for flight from Krakow: 2pm (Auchwitz is 1hr drive from airport)

Option 3: begin personal program

 

Aug 2: morning rest, drive to Paris

Mass, waffles at Beatitudes house

Option 1: Drive to Paris (3hrs), night at Sacré Coeur Basilica on MontMartre

Option 2: train to Brussels for evening flight ($20? train, 2hrs)

 

 

Aug 3: Depart, Toulouse, or countryside

Option 1: Morning visits in Paris, noon departure for Toulouse

Option 2: evening bus to Beatitudes house in countryside near Orleans

Option 3: Flight from Paris ($10 train to airport, 1hr)

 

 

Option 1: end Aug 4-10: Departures from Toulouse

Depart any day--best Sun evening or Mon. Airport is 5min drive, 30min walk from house. Each day, balance of chanted offices and Mass, community meals and dishes, little chores, adoration. House is ideal for beautiful walks, bike-rides or bus to town (original Dominican convent, St. Thomas Aquinas’ head…), shrine of St. Germaine in the countryside…

 

Option 2: end Aug 17 or later

Later departures for those staying for time in community in the north of France, visit to the tomb of St. Benedict, visit to a castle, and service at our family camp… For even longer stays, ask us!
